Helpful Spectangle Tips

Ensure adequate lighting
Keep camera lens clean
Have patient seated during measurements, as well as yourself
Use touch screen to focus on desired area
Reduce reflections when using the HOYA black strip
You can re-enter any of the Free-Form fields at any time
Take shots as precisely as possible with the camera

If you are having trouble with the focus going in and out:

Focus on patient’s ear or hairline, than slide over to frame front
Touch on the screen the area you desire to focus on
Back up a bit, then come in slowly
Make sure the lens is clean

If the camera goes out of focus just before the camera takes the picture:

Use a background that is solid and light in color – like a solid wall
Tilt the iPad slightly and tap the camera button, focus and tilt until level
Ensure adequate lighting on the subject in order to hold the focus
Make sure the lens is clean

*Most importantly, make sure the frame is adjusted properly on the patient before any and all measurements are taken. The frame must sit on the patient’s face in the same manner for measurements taken to ensure accuracy.
